How to make your own Pickles:

Pickles in a Jar
In this post, I’ll show you how to make pickles which is mostly enjoyed with ham and burger.

Ingredients:
·         Cucumbers
·         Onions
·         Red or Green Sweet Pepper
·         Sugar
·         Vinegar
·         Mustard seed
·         Spices [ whole clove, turmeric, or pickling spice]
·         salt
Method:
4 qt [quarters] thin sliced cucumbers [about 30 small ones] + 8 onions, sliced + 2 large red or green sweet peppers + ½ cup salt, dissolved in cold water } Mix in a large bowl and add enough water to cover the vegetables. Let sit for 3 hours.


5 cups Sugar + 5 cups Vinegar + 2 tablespoon mustard seed + 1 teaspoon each turmeric, whole cloves [or 2 Tablespoon mixed pickling spice] } Mix and bring to boil. Add the drained vegetables, and bring back just to boil. Do not Cook. Pour immediately into sterile jars and seal tightly. [ Jars can be kept in the fridge if desired.]
